User Access
Q. Can Vea Software be customized to allow user access to specified departments?
A. Yes, Vea Software is customizable to user-access capabilities. Sensors can be assigned to allow access to specified departments. You can also determine who can take "corrective actions" once an alert has been announced. The alerts are activated once data goes outside of a predetermined set range. Alerts can be set to certain levels and different groups will be notified at the different levels.
For example, a refrigerator used to store pharmaceuticals can have a sensor with an acceptable range of 30° to 35° F. If the temperature drops or rises beyond the set range for a span of two minutes, the immediate monitors of the pharmaceuticals will be notified (level 1). If the alert continues for a span of ten minutes without corrective action, then the head of the department will be notified of the alert (level 2). If the alert continues for a span of thirty minutes without corrective action, department administrators will be notified of the alert (level 3).
Reporting
Q. What are the reporting capabilities using Vea Software?
A. Vea Software is able to be customized to best fit your reporting requirements. Reports can be calculated instantly for individual sensors for any given span of time. The software can display data in a number of ways including bar graphs, line graphs, and pie charts. Reports can be displayed in an Excel spreadsheet, PDF format, or through an automated email. The automated email feature can be used to send daily reports to administrators or others interested in the summary information.
Network Connection
Q. What protocols do the wireless sensors support?
A. The wireless sensors currently use the 801.11b protocol. They also use WEP 128, WPA, WPA2-PSK (AES) for security and encryption. The sensors can use your existing Wi-Fi network access points, but must use one of the settings mentioned above.
Wireless Products
Q. What type of batteries do the wireless products use?
A. The wireless products use 1.5 volt AA Lithium batteries.
Q. Is there a notification when the batteries need to be replaced?
A. The Wi-Fi sensors do have a battery indicator. However, the 418 and 900 MHz sensors do not have a battery indicator. For 418 and 900 MHz sensors, it is best to preemptively change the batteries every year or two years depending on the sensor’s estimated battery life.
Certifications
Q. Do SenSource products comply with any standard certifications?
A. Yes, the SenSource environmental sensors comply with the following certifications:
Wi-Fi sensors are FCC, IC and CE compliant
418MHz and 900MHz sensors are FCC compliant
433MHz sensors are CE compliant
